Recording “What would The Smiths Do?”
The Great Fire of London 1666
Hello,
Started the recording of “What Would The Smiths Do?” last night. The opening line of the song uses an image of London burning. We stopped for a break and turned on the news and indeed London was on fire.
It seems that one of the best parts of London which was the markets in Camden has been damaged and many a trader has had to pick up the charred pieces of what was once a business. I feel very sorry for those effected by the fire last night, firemen, traders and locals. Nobody got hurt as far as i know, which judging by the footage is a lucky thing.
The song itself was recorded with great ease and we got a good shape on it. The working title was “London To Weatherfield” but has changed due to the fact the chorus uses “What Would The Smiths Do?” as part of it and the song is constantly getting called that, this title may stick.
